O say, I can't see, by the day or the night,
What so loudly I yelled at the right eye's last seeing?
Where's the stripes and bright stars, in the perilous night?
O'er the darkness I watch'd, I'm so depressed and screaming?
There's no rockets' red glare, just nothing there when I stare,
Giving proof thro' the night that little sight was still there.
O say, does that darkened banner yet wave,
O'er the land of the blind and the home of the lame?
